What is the AI Truck Driver Trend: Reverse a Big Rig Into the Depot?
The AI truck driver trend puts you in the one job that looks cool on every camera: a calm driver in the cab of a huge semi truck, door wide open, leaning out to back the rig into the depot in one smooth move. The clip is shot like a fisheye camera on the dashboard, so it looks like real trucker footage. Upload one photo and this template puts you in the driver seat.
The trend is a CapCut AI template that took off in the first week of November 2026. On 2 November @rutfh44 posted it with a woman in a black jacket reversing a red truck past a row of trailers, "Upload a photo to make the same video", in English, Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese: 2.75 million views and 42,000 likes. On 5 November an Indonesian tutorial of the same template passed 11 million views and 360,000 likes, and Vietnamese, French and Spanish copies followed within days.
The template runs in two steps: an image model seats you in the cab with the door open, then a video model plays 8 seconds of you leaning out and reversing into the bay, engine rumble and reversing beeper included. The trend video on this page is credited to its creator; the poster image is AI-generated.
What happens in the video
0-2 s: you sit at the wheel of a big truck with the driver door open. 2-6 s: you lean out of the doorway and look back as the truck reverses through the depot past rows of trailers. 6-8 s: you sit back, glance at the camera and nod as the truck stops in the bay.
Why does it look like a GoPro?
The viral clips are filmed from a fisheye camera on the dashboard, so the template copies that look: wide angle, slight distortion, the open door and the depot in the background.
Which photo to use
One adult, face clear and toward the camera, good light, upper body in view. Use your own photo or one of a friend who said yes, never a celebrity, a stranger or a child.
