What is the Mini Me AI Trend: A Tiny You Gets an Ice Cream?
The mini me trend shrinks you into a tiny, doll-size copy of yourself, same face and clothes, sitting on a window ledge while a giant hand brings you an ice cream cone. Tiny you grabs it with both arms and ends up with cream all over the face. The caption goes with it: "Mini version of me unlocked" or "I made a tiny version of myself". Upload one photo and this template makes the clip.
The trend grew out of a run of AI templates in a popular video editing app from May 2026. On 30 July a tiny you with bunny ears being fed an ice cream on a sofa passed 800,000 views, and on 9 August the window ledge version made the trend: about 2.8 million views and nearly 38,000 shares. Copies kept coming through September and October, one passing 400,000 views on 14 October, and on 26 October a second wave with French captions started, its top post past 350,000 views within days.
The template runs in two steps: an image model makes the tiny you on the window ledge from your photo, then a video model plays the giant hand, the cone and the messy bite with an original playful tune. You get an 8-second vertical clip with no watermark. The trend videos on this page are credited to their creators; the poster image is AI-generated.
Why the mini me trend works
Seeing a tiny, perfect copy of yourself is strange and cute at the same time, and the giant hand gives the scene real scale. The messy ice cream bite is the payoff that makes people watch it twice.
Which photo to use
One adult, alone in the picture, face clear and toward the camera, whole body or waist up in view and good light. Busy group photos or sunglasses make the tiny you less like you.
