What is the AI Marigold Bridge Trend Video (Puente de Cempasúchil)?
The marigold bridge, or puente de cempasúchil, is the Day of the Dead tribute of October 2026. One photo of someone you miss becomes a warm 3D animated character who takes their first steps on a glowing bridge of marigold petals, crouches and gathers a handful of them. Upload one photo and this template makes that clip for your own loved one.
In Mexico, cempasúchil petals are said to guide the dead home on 1 and 2 November, and a well-known 2017 animated film made the glowing petal bridge to the afterlife famous; people still search for the "Coco bridge" every October. In 2025 Mexican TikTok filled with photos of relatives who had died that year, under the line "Es su primer Día de Muertos, no lo dejen cruzar solo". On 20 October 2026 the CapCut creator @ia_chiomora turned it into an AI template. Her post, "No lo dejen solito, es su primera vez cruzando el puente de cempasúchil" ("Don't leave him alone, it's his first time crossing the marigold bridge"), passed 3.6 million views in three days, and remakes followed within a day.
The template runs in two steps: an image model turns the photo into an original 3D animated character in the same clothes, then a video model plays the first steps on the bridge and the handful of glowing petals, with a soft original guitar melody. You get an 8-second vertical clip with no watermark. The trend videos on this page are credited to their creators; the poster image is AI-generated.
What the marigold bridge means
Cempasúchil, the Mexican marigold, is the flower of the Day of the Dead. Its bright orange petals are laid from the street to the altar so the souls can find their way home. In the trend, the petals become a glowing bridge, and the person you miss crosses it for the first time.
Which photo to use
One adult, alone in the picture, face clear and not too small. An old photo works if the face is sharp. The template keeps their face, hair and clothes and draws them in an original 3D animated style.
