What is the Day of the Dead Pet AI?
The Day of the Dead pet AI template is a gentle tribute for Día de Muertos. Upload a photo of your dog or cat, including a pet who has passed, and the template builds a magical night scene: a long arched bridge made entirely of glowing orange marigold petals over a misty river, papel picado banners and candles along the railings, a starry purple sky, and your pet standing at the far end with a soft golden glow. Then the video begins. Your pet notices the camera, perks up its ears and runs happily across the bridge toward you, petals swirling around its paws and tail wagging, before slowing down and sitting in front of you, looking up in warm light.
In Mexican tradition, marigolds (cempasúchil) guide spirits home during Día de Muertos, and many families now include their pets on the ofrenda. The AI version became a TikTok tradition: one memorial clip passed 10 million views, and #diademuertosmascotas has more than 160 million views. It peaks every year between 28 October and 2 November.
The clip is 8 seconds, made in two steps (a still of your pet on the bridge, then the run), vertical and watermark-free. It has no generated soundtrack, so you can add music that means something to you.
About the marigold bridge
On Día de Muertos, families in Mexico and beyond build ofrendas (altars) and scatter cempasúchil petals, whose colour and scent are said to guide spirits home. The bridge in this template is an imaginative take on that path. It is meant as a respectful, loving image, not a costume or a joke, and it works for pets who are still with you as well as those who have passed.
When to post
Interest builds from mid-October and peaks between 28 October and 2 November. Making the clip a few days early leaves time to try a second photo and pick the right music.
