The kung fu cat is the pet trend of late October 2026. A cat sits upright on its owner's lap, someone holds out a paper tissue, and the cat blocks, strikes and chops it clean in half like a martial arts master. Upload one photo of your cat and this template makes your own kung fu cat clip. Pet kung fu started with dogs in the summer: owners held a strip of toilet paper in front of their golden retriever, and the dog chopped it in half with one paw (see the kung fu dog template). On 19 October 2026 an orange cat from Malaysia took over. It sits on its owner's lap, guards, strikes and chops two tissues to the chorus of a classic disco kung fu song, and the clip passed 10 million views and 1.9 million likes in five days. A fluffy ragdoll followed the next day with 6.5 million views, then a US ragdoll with 2.8 million. In Chinese comments the cat is "Cat Shifu", the master. The template runs in two steps: an image model sits your own cat upright on a lap with a tissue in front of it, then a video model plays the guard, the strikes and two clean chops, with an original drum-and-gong beat and whoosh sounds. You get an 8-second vertical clip with no watermark. The trend videos on this page are credited to their creators; the poster image is AI-generated. ## Why the tissue chop works The joke is the cat's face: a fluffy pet with the focus of a martial arts master, and a paw that really cuts the tissue. The template keeps the serious stare, the guard, the strikes and the clean chop, so the clip reads as the trend at first glance. ## Which photo to use One cat, alone in the picture, whole body in view, face clear and not blurry. A photo where your cat sits or stands works better than one where it is curled up asleep. ## How to use it 1. Open https://soracai.com/ai-kung-fu-cat and upload a photo (Your cat's photo). 2. Press Generate (140 credits, shown on the button before you run it). 3. Wait one to three minutes; the result is also saved to My Creations. 4. Download the MP4 without a watermark. Failed runs are refunded automatically. ## Examples - Example result: https://soracai.com/media/templates/ai-kung-fu-cat/poster.avif ## This trend on Instagram & TikTok - @lynn59716 (Trend video), TikTok, 2026-10-19: The orange kung fu cat that started the October wave. 10,057,863 views, 1,919,023 likes. Use the kung fu dog template for the headband version. ## Use cases - Your cat's own kung fu clip for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. - A pet account post that rides the trend while it is hot. - A funny reply video for friends who sent you the original. ## FAQ ### How do I make the kung fu cat trend with AI? Upload one clear photo of your cat and press Generate. You get an 8-second clip of your cat sitting upright on a lap, blocking, striking and chopping a tissue in half. ### Is it free? Video templates use paid credits. New accounts get free credits for photo templates only. The exact cost is shown on the Generate button before you confirm. ### Does it work with dogs? Yes, but the kung fu dog template fits dogs better: it uses the summer version with a headband and a strip of toilet paper. ### Does the video have the song from the trend? No. The clip has an original kung fu style beat with drums, a gong and whooshes. Add the trending sound yourself in TikTok or CapCut. ### Is this affiliated with the creators of the trend? No. Soracai is not affiliated with any of the creators of the kung fu cat clips. The template makes its own original scene with your cat's photo. ### Is there a watermark? No watermark is added to the video. ### Where is my photo stored? Uploads are stored in Firebase Storage (Google Cloud) under your account so the run can happen and the result appears in Creations. They are not public, and you can email support to request deletion. To run the effect, a copy is sent to our AI model provider (kie.ai); result files are kept for 14 days, so download what you want to keep. ## Related effects - [AI Kung Fu Dog Trend Video](https://soracai.com/ai-kung-fu-dog): Your dog sits on the rug in a white headband, stares down a strip of toilet paper like a karate master and chops it in half with one paw: the kung fu dog trend from one photo. - [AI Clapping Cat](https://soracai.com/ai-clapping-cat): Your cat or dog sits up, grows two little human hands, grins and gives a slow, loud clap. - [Knight Cat AI Video](https://soracai.com/ai-knight-cat): Your cat or dog becomes the tiny armoured knight with a sword twice its size on a stormy moor. - [AI Cat Dance](https://soracai.com/ai-cat-dance): Upload a photo of your cat and watch it stand up and dance to the beat for 6 seconds. - [Whiny Dog AI Video](https://soracai.com/ai-whiny-dog): Your dog or cat stares into the phone and whines dramatically, again and again, then flashes a big toothy grin. - [Sniffer Dog AI Video](https://soracai.com/ai-sniffer-dog): You dance in a festival crowd until a working dog walks up and sits down at your feet, and you freeze, then fake-cry. - [AI Pet Halloween Costume](https://soracai.com/ai-pet-halloween-costume): See your dog or cat in any Halloween costume on a decorated porch, before you buy one. - [AI Shadow Boxing Knockout Video](https://soracai.com/ai-shadow-boxing-knockout): You shadowbox in a boxing gym, an invisible jab and hook snap your head back, and you drop flat on the mat while everyone else keeps training: "bro got knocked out shadowboxing" from one photo.
